I find it appealing to selectively apply flexible process logic depending on the situation.

Therefore, when I learned about bimodal IT, I got super-excited. I saluted this concept in my book and blog. Now, I’d like to share my excitement with the students of this course.

The bimodal concept attracted IT professionals and procurement, creating the hybrid notion of “bimodal procurement.”

Alternatively, it was called “adaptive sourcing,” representing a more complex approach based on different types of scope, process actors, and modes of governance.

This course will explain the origins of the bimodal operating model, its bright sides, and its deficiencies.

We’ll present Adaptive Sourcing as the synthesis of different concepts, which elaborates on bimodal procurement but goes beyond its remits. Essentially, it is the practical realization of Agile procurement. 

We’ll also propose a custom sourcing strategy that puts our theoretical definitions into practice.

Of course, we will blend all of the above with discussion topics and real-life examples.

Adaptive sourcing is one of the implementations of Agile Procurement 4.0 – flexible, variable, and streamlined.
